About the artists:

Lucas Sebastian

Born October 18th, 1976 in Arequipa, Peru

Lucas Sebastian

The unrest he felt expressing himself through painting, led him to study at the “Carlos Baca Flor” College of Art.

With great concern for Peru's social aspects, he sometimes explores the realistic language with touches of expressionism, and at times with surrealism, finding watercolors as a means of expression.

His abstract language seeks the countryside as his work space; here he feels at ease to externalize his internal unrest expressing it in colors and lines.

David Villalba

David Villalba

Born in Arequipa, Peru in 1967. Since he was very young he showed a fondness for color and the intense desire to explore it; this is the reason his mathematics teacher encouraged him to study pictorial art, which he did, after concluding his secondary studies in the traditional school Independencia Americana, going against his parents' wishes.

Once he finished his studies at the Baca Flor School of Fine Arts (1987 – 1991) he went on to Colombia to show his skills in watercolors, and then continued his wanderings across the world, painting and learning.

After a period of pure academism, he developed a conceptual and intimate language, a technique and a manner of expression that goes on to become but only one phase of his constant exploration.

Guzmán Emilio Huanca Yanakico

Jacantaya – Moho (Puno - Peru)

Guzmán Emilio Huanca Yanakico

He spends his childhood in his homeland, between mountains, plains of ochre tones and bright colored wildflowers that contrast with the dark and light blues of the water springs and the Titicaca lake. He combines his early studies with fieldwork and games out in the open air, full of creativity and liberty. At eight years old, he wins a marvelous prize in a school painting competition: an illustrated Larousse dictionary that open doors towards an immense and new world of knowledge.

He then travels to Chuquibamba, a high province in Arequipa, to study secondary school, where he continues with his love for strokes and color; concluding with this stage, he enrolls in the army fulfilling his military service at the Salaverry Barracks of Arequipa, where he continues painting. At the end of his service, he enters the Carlos Baca Flor School of Art, forming part of a promotion plagued with talents, which are stimulated and then fed back with art and knowledge.

When he graduated, he worked intensively perfecting his talent, without ever abandoning his attachment regarding all that is natural, especially wildflowers, their shapes and colors and their dialog with the pristine light of the Andes. Yanariko displays an intense array of recognized successes worldwide. He is currently exhibiting in important galleries all over the world.

Paolo Cordano

Arequipa - Peru, December 5, 1971.

Paolo Cordano

Born into a family that knew how to generate an environment where artistic inclinations existed naturally, Paolo manifested his curiosity and interest towards color and shape from an early age, having the drive to express himself through them, this being the stage in which he constructed the bases that would later come to be his unique artistic style.

After the period in which Paolo had to see to his classic student formation, he gets submerged once again into the world of color and shapes, following his search in pictorial and sculptural art, each time obtaining greater dominion in both areas, achieving an artistic, original and solid proposal in aesthetics, using multiple techniques where the fusion of cultures and blends predominate, with characters typical of his world, an environment full of magic and innovating and constant exploration.

Paolo Cordano has made exhibitions in Peru, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Panama, Mexico, the USA, Italy, and Switzerland among many other places. His works today are exhibited in the most important galleries worldwide.
