LIGHT ALPACA: THE 2016 SPRING/SUMMER COLLECTION

The 2016 Spring/Summer Collection by KUNA centers around the concept of “Light Alpaca” in an attempt to showcase the versatilty of the Alpaca fiber when combined with other high-quality fibers, such as Peruvian Pima Cotton and Silk. This collection challenges the notion of Alpaca as a cold weather fabric by introducing extremely lightweight and luxurious blends such as a fabric made of 70% Peruvian Pima Cotton and 30% Royal Alpaca, the finest Alpaca fiber available. This fabric produces light sweaters, cardigans and ponchos that can be worn in warmer weather and throughout the year by combining the best properties of Alpaca like breathability, adaptability to your body temerature and soft touch with the lightness and softness of the best cotton for truly unique luxury garments.

The designs are created to highlight Spring with bright colors, fresh and fluid designs. The finest natural fibers such as Peruvian Pima Cotton, Royal & Baby Alpaca, Silk and Bamboo are the perfect basis to create beautiful garments transmitting freedom and simplicity; the essence of this collection lies in both of its inspirations: BLOOM and CHIC and SIMPLE.

BLOOM

Beautiful floral prints are combined with interwoven textures to highlight KUNA’s  craftsmanship and attention to detail. Using only the finest raw materials such as Royal Alpaca, Silk and Peruvian Pima Cotton, these designs are elegant and easy to wear, and in some cases reversible. Together with the contrasting flower patterns in the ”Bloom” collection, these pieces take subtle inspiration from the fine fabrics of Damascus.

CHIC and SIMPLE

Simple and light knits with fine details and lacework are ideal to harmonically accompany jackets and coats made from lightweight felted fabric with a slightly relaxed fit for freedom and versatility. Expressend in a palette of cheerful and casual colors in hues of pink, chartreuse, yellow, blue and the forever classic and elegant neutral tones.
