Charity Runway Show for Kuna Fall/Winter 2011 Collection
Check out the latest Fall/Winter 2011 collection from Kuna on the runway. Kuna and ALINEN (the volunteer alliance for the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases) teamed up for a night of fashion in Lima, Peru to benefit cancer patients who need financial assistance.
Fall/Winter 2011 Kuna Collection
Filmed in Puno, Peru at Pacomarca, the premier research farm for raising and studying alpacas. This video shows off the new Kuna collection for Fall and Winter 2011. This year, Kuna has a couple of firsts: They are incorporating Linen into some of the products, giving an amazing texture and natural color variation to the garments as the linen and the alpaca fibers each hold dyes a little differently; and they are introducing woolen yarn into alpaca garments for the first time, the woolen yarn is lighter and more voluminous than the worsted yarn commonly used in alpaca products. We're really proud of this collection. We can't wait to get it into your hands too.
Fall/Winter 2009 Kuna Collection
This video displays a combination of images from the 2009 photo shoot in the Colca Canyon region of Peru, showing off beautiful alpacas and guanacos and amazing landscapes, and a taste of a fashion show introducing the 2009 collection.
The video ends with a shot of world leaders wearing Kuna ponchos at the 2008 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, held in Peru. Look carefully and you will see Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and then President George Bush among others.
From Farm to Website
This video is filmed mostly at Pacomarca, an experimental farm in the Puno region of Peru. The farm is focused on education and continued improvement of alpaca animals and alpaca fibers. The video highlights the process of gently harvesting the raw fibers from the animals and turning these fibers into the finished products you see on our website. You get a chance to see some of the faces that are integral to the process, as well as the huacaya and suri alpacas in action.
